The active world records of female crews of Mi-26 helicopter were set 30 years ago

UTair Aviation celebrates the remarkable date in the history of national aviation. A female crew of USSR Tyumen civil aviation administration (reorganized into Tyumenaviatrans in 1991, renamed into UTair in 2002) headed by the famous pilot Inna Kopets and formed by the co-pilot, Valentina Volkova, navigator, Tamara Afanasyeva, and flight engineer, Lyudmila Koshil, set the world record on Mi-26 helicopter in early December 1982, the airline’s press-service reports. AEX.ru

"9 records in the area of lifting the weight have been set in three days. The following data was recorded: 20 tons of cargo have been lifted to the altitude of 4050 meters; the helicopter’s maximum takeoff weight is 56520 kg”, - the press-service noted. – These figures were close to the record set by the male crew headed by the test-pilot Gurgen Karapetyan".

Inna Andreevna Kopets – the only woman in the world having a flight experience of 11500 hours. She is the member of International association of female helicopter pilots and Master of sports of international grade. She has set 15 world records with the female crews of Mi-1, Mi-8 and Mi-26 helicopters. At present Anna Kopets is the counselor of the General Representative of UTair Aviation, Public Relations. She is carrying out active public work; in particular she is the initiator of creating a museum of the famous designer, A.M. Cheremukhin, at the general high school № 25 in Lyubertsy (Moscow Region).
