Laos certified Sukhoi Superjet 100

Department of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport of Lao People’s Democratic Republic validated the type certificate of Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft (RRJ-95B) on December 19, 2012, press-service of Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCAC) reports. AEX.ru

The certificate confirms compliance of SSJ100 to the certification requirements of the Laos aviation authorities, allowing the jet’s export to Laos and its operation by Laos airlines without any restrictions.

“We are glad that Sukhoi Superjet 100 is finding acceptance in Southeast Asia. Now SCAC are ready to deliver the jet to Laos”, - the said First Vice-President of SCAC on Development and Certification, Igor Vinogradov, said.

Lao Central (ex-Phongsavanh) and SCAC signed a contract in March 2011 for delivery of three Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft. The first delivery is expected in early 2013.

SSJ100 was certified by the IAC AR in January 2011 and by EASA – in February 2012. The Mexican aviation authorities validated its type certificate in April 2012 and the Indonesian authorities validated it in November 2012.

  The new Superjet100 (RA-89140) has been handed over to Red Wings. This is the 200th aircraft of this type produced by the United Aircraft Corporation and the first SSJ leased to the airline from PSB Leasing. The term of the contract is 20 years. For the aircraft, an inverse version of the airline's livery was chosen (not the standard white and red, but red and white).
