Russia and South Korea discuss the project on launching the production of freight airship

Russian Aviaton » Friday November 9, 2012 16:04 MSK

In the network of International economic forum organized by RBC the meetings of representatives of Russian and Korean business communities are taking place in Seoul. During these meetings the key players of the business communities are looking for areas of common interest, RBC reports.

The innovative cooperation between the countries was in the spotlight today. In the network of this partnership Russia is going to act as a fully legitimate ally instead of an ”energy appendix”.

In particular, a project for establishing the production of freight airships may be discussed at the forum, RBC-TV reports. Airships are safe, easy-to-operate and relatively cheap. The construction of new berth at the cargo dockyard costs about 500 million rubles, while the cost of an airship used for transporting containers on the shore may not exceed 1 million rubles. The specialists believe that the demand for airships may be especially high in the Northern part of Russia, because some regions do not have any suitable roads, but they have a lot of cargo to transport.

The International economic forum is the annual meeting of representatives of business, social, political and scientific communities. The problems of modernization, technological renewal, competitive growth and diversification of Russian economy, energy efficiency and cost-effective use of resources, development of the national market of intellectual property, encouragement of investment activities are being discussed at the forum.

The forum in Seoul will close on November 9th 2012.
