Federal Air Transport Agency has unveiled the statistics on passenger and cargo traffic of Russian airlines in January-September 2012. AEX.ru
According to this statistics, the passenger turnover of the airlines during the accounting period was 149 124 048.41 thousand passenger-kilometers, (+17,1% as compared to the same period of the last year). The cargo turnover was 3 723 961.80 thousand ton-kilometers (+3,4%).
During the accounting period (January-September 2012) Russian carriers have transported 56 867 804 passengers (+15.2% as compared to the same period of 2011). The scope of transported cargo and mail was 718 566.80 tons (+1.3%). The passenger load factor was 79,4% and the commercial load factor was 66.2%.
As for the September statistics, the Russian airlines have transported 7 797 473 passengers (+15%) and 87 438.58 tons of cargo and mail (-3%).
The top-5 carriers by passenger traffic in January-September 2012 are as follows: Aeroflot has transported 13 292 431 passengers (+26,1% as compared to the same period of 2011), Transaero - 8 076 597 passengers (+23.1%), UTair - 5 974 032 passengers (+43.1%), Siberia - 4 772 107 passengers (+24.3%), Rossiya - 3 361 824 passenger (+23.9%). These five carriers have transported a total of 35 476 991 passengers (+27.5%) during 9 months, which is equal to 62.4% of the total passenger traffic of the Russian airlines during the accounting period.
The five leading airlines by cargo traffic are: AirBridgeCargo – 264 720.1 tons of cargo and mail (-1.8% compared to the same period of 2011), Aeroflot – 141 821.6 tons of cargo and mail (+26.7%), Volga-Dnepr - 47 793.4 tons of cargo and mail (+3.6%), Transaero – 46 450.3 tons of cargo and mail (+29,8%), Siberia – 26 744 tons of cargo and mail (+5.9%). The above-mentioned five carriers have transported a total of 527 529.4 tons of cargo and mail (+8%) during 9 months, which is equal to 73.4% of the total cargo traffic of the Russian airlines during the accounting period.
