The “Company of the year 2012” national award in the “Air transport” category was presented to Aeroflot – Russian Airlines. The awarding ceremony was held on November 27th at the Gostiny Dvor, the carrier’s press-service reports. AEX.ru
The “Company of the year” annual national award is one of the most prestigious Russian awards in the area of business. The laureates are selected by the special expert council formed by influential representatives of public authorities, public figures and entrepreneurship. It was established in 2002 under the patronage of the Ministry of Economic Development. The laureates are also awarded with the status of top-priority enterprise in terms of implementation of the investment projects.
"The expert council of the award has appreciated the activities of Aeroflot aimed at improving the service quality, consolidation of Russian aviation industry, implementation of new technologies in all the fields of operating and business activities. For instance, Aeroflot set another record in 2011 – the airline’s passenger traffic exceeded 14 million passengers per year (Aeroflot Group’s passenger traffic was over 20 million passengers in 2011). Five regional carriers previously owned by Russian Technologies have successfully joined the Aeroflot Group. Aeroflot has the largest operation control center in Eastern Europe, its own flying school and the unique situation center. Aeroflot has successfully passed another IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) and confirmed its status as the Russia’s safest airline and one of the most reliable carriers in the world. The airline has won a lot of different prizes and prestigious international awards", - the airline noted.
The “Company of the year” award was presented to Aeroflot in 2012 for the fifth time. Aeroflot has won this prize in 2002 in the “Mass demand services” category and in 2005, 2007 and 2010 – in the “Transport” category.
