The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has assigned Gazpromneft-Aero's refueling complex at Manas International Airport in the Kyrgyzstani capital of Bishkek its highest aviation fueling quality rating. This rating allows for the unrestricted refueling of aircraft operated by leading carriers.
In 2012, Gazpromneft-Aero invested over RUB 111 million into upgrading the existing refueling infrastructure at Manas International Airport. The refueling complex was supplied with new fuel tankers, the tank battery was upgraded, and modern laboratory equipment for aviation fuel quality control was installed. The company also introduced international management standards to ensure financial reporting and tax withholding controls.
Gazpromneft Aero’s subsidiary in Kyrgyzstan is currently providing aircraft refueling services at Manas International Airport for the following airlines: Aeroflot, Kyrgyzstan Airlines, Volga-Dnepr, Fly Dubai, Air Bishkek, Yakutia, Avia Traffic Company as well as others.
Vladimir Egorov, Director General of Gazpromneft Aero, commented: "The full-scale upgrade of the engineering facilities at Gazpromneft Aero's refueling complex at Manas Airport will continue in 2013. We are seeking to expand our business in Central Asia and, given the high potential and prospects of this market, we expect to attract new international air carriers to Kyrgyzstan."
"The inspection of Gazpromneft Aero's refueling complex confirmed that international aviation technical standards had been implemented to
ensure the highest level of security for fueling operations: Green," commented Reshat Kunduz, IATA inspector.
Gazpromneft Aero is a subsidiary of Gazprom Neft. The company began aircraft refueling and wing-tip fuel sales on January 1, 2008. Since December 2008, Gazpromneft Aero has been a strategic partner of the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Gazpromneft Aero is Russia’s leading supplier of aviation fuel. The company has its own network of refueling facilities and is number one in volume of wing-tip jet fuel sales among network operators in the Russian retail market. Gazpromneft Aero has been refueling aircraft at Manas Airport since 2011. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) was founded in The Hague (Netherlands) in 1919 as a union of airlines originally called the International Air Traffic Association. Its goal was to organise safe, regular and economical air transport, and to promote collaboration among all companies involved in international air transport. The association was organised after World War I and ceased to exist because of World War II. Its successor was the International Air Transport Association, formed in Havana (Cuba) in April 1945. Today, the association's members include around 300 airlines accounting for over 90% of all international flights.
