Sheremetyevo international airport has serviced more than 23 million passengers for the first time in its history

Sheremetyevo international airport has serviced 22.326 million passengers during 10 months of 2012 (+17% as compared to the same period of 2011). The passenger traffic on international airlines has increased by 19,6% to 14 754 000 passengers during the period from January to October, as for domestic airlines – by 12.3 % to 7 573 000 passengers, the airport’s press-service reports. "The number of transported passengers has increased by 15.6% in October 2012 to 2 235 000 ones. At that the passenger traffic on international airlines has increased by 17.7% to 1 461 000 passengers, as for domestic airlines – by 11.8% to 774 000 passengers. The most popular international destinations were: Antalya, Hurghada, Paris, Sharm el-Sheikh, Prague, Beijing, Larnaka, New York, Istanbul and the federal ones were – St. Petersburg, Sochi, Krasnodar, Vladivostok, Kaliningrad and Rostov-on-Don”, Sheremetyevo’s press-service noted.

The airport has provided implementation of 192 252 takeoffs and landings during 10 months of 2012 (+9.3% as compared to 2011). The number of takeoffs and landings in October has increased by 7.6% to 19 506. According to ACI EUROPE rating, following the results of September 2012 Sheremetyevo was the leader among European airports with passenger traffic of 10-25 million passengers per year by the increase of passenger traffic (+17.6%).
