The docking of Progress M-17M cargo spacecraft with International Space Station (ISS) has been performed on October 31st 2012 at 17.33.46 Moscow time. The cargo spacecraft has docked with “Zvezda” service module (SM). The rendezvous procedure has been performed in automatic mode, the press-service of Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) reports. AEX.ru
The spacecraft has delivered over 2400 kg of different cargo to the ISS. About half of this weight is accounted for fuel in the tanks of refueling system for the powerplant of the Russian segment of ISS, air and oxygen, water in the tanks of Rodnik system.
“The rest cargo (1247 kg) is located in the pressurized compartment of the spacecraft. Equipment for Russian and American segments of ISS, onboard documentation, fire-protection equipment, medical equipment, personal hygiene products, food and parcels for crew members. Equipment for scientific studies and experiments (Dalnost’, Tipologiya, Aseptik, Kaskad, Bioemulsiya, Konyugatsiya, Konstanta, BIF, Aril, OChB, Membrana and Plazmenniy kristall-3 Plus) has also been delivered to the station.
The crew of 33/34 long duration mission is currently working at the ISS. The crew is formed by commander Sanita Williams (NASA), onboard engineers Yuri Malenchenko (Roscosmos), Akhihiko Khoshide (JAXA) Oleg Novitsky (Roscosmos), Evgeniy Tarelkin (Roscosmos) and Kevin Ford (NASA).
