A group of specialists from UK will perform survey flight above Russian Federation using Saab OS-100 aircraft in the network of international Open Skies Treaty during the period from October 8th to October 12th, press-service of Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) reports. AEX.ru
The flight will be performed from Kubinka airfield. Its maximum range will be 5500 km. Russian specialists will control the usage of surveillance equipment on board of the Swedish aircraft during the flight, MoD noted.
Saab OS-100 aircraft is not intended for employment of any weapons. The aircraft and its onboard surveillance equipment have passed all the necessary international inspections with the participation of Russian specialists. Thus the usage of any equipment unstipulated by the Open Skies Treaty is eliminated.
