The volume of Russian military exports will exceed $13 billion in 2012, Lenta.ru reports with reference to the Deputy Director of Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC), Konstantin Biryulin.

Meanwhile, according to Russian Technologies State Corporation, the volume of Russia’s military export exceeded $6,5 billion in the first half of 2012 (+14% as compared to the first half of 2011). Representatives of FSMTC and Rosoboronexport have assessed the volume of military export in 2012 at $13,6 billion earlier.

Following the results of 2011 the volume of military exports was $13,2 billion. At that the volume of exports through the state intermediary - Rosoboronexport reached $10,7 billion. Sergey Chemezov, CEO of Russian Technologies State Corporation (parent company of Rosoboronexport), said in February 2012 that the planned volume of exports for 2012 is $13,5 billion.

In late August the US Congress unveiled the report made by Congressional Research Service. According to this report, the volume of military exports of USA was $66.3 billion in 2011 (14 times as much as the same indicator of Russia). According to the American specialists, the volume of Russia’s military exports was $4.8 billion in 2011.
