The planned orbital trimming of ISS has been performed on October 17th, press-service of the Federal Space Agency reports. AEX.ru

“In accordance with the calculation of the ballistic service of the Mission Control Center of Central Research Institute of Machine Building (TsNIIMash) the engines have been turned on at 19:24 Moscow time (15:24 GMT). The engines have been working for 19.2 seconds”, - the agency explained.

As a result, ISS received an additional impulse of 0.3 m/sec and the average altitude of ISS’ orbit has increased by 550 meters to 414.4 kilometers.

The orbit of ISS has the following parameters after the maneuver:
   minimal height above Earth's surface – 403.7 km;
   maximal height above Earth's surface – 434.6 km;
   orbit time – 92.8 min;
   inclination - 51,67 degrees.

“The orbital trimming helped form the station’s operational orbit in accordance with the strategy for maintaining its altitude and provide the required conditions for docking of Soyuz TMA-06M spacecraft with ISS (the spacecraft should be launched on October 23rd)”, - the Federal Space Agency noted.

The crew of 33/34 long-duration mission formed by Novitsky Oleg Viktorovich - commander (Roscosmos);
Tarelkin Evgeny Igorevich (Roscosmos) and Ford Kevin  (NASA), will be delivered to ISS by Soyuz TMA-06M spacecraft.

At present the members of the main crew along with the backup crew (Pavel Vinogradov, Alexander Misurkin (Roscosmos) and Christopher Cassidy (NASA)) are undergoing prelaunch training at Baikonur cosmodrome.
