The expenses for Russian armed forces will increase by 15% in 2013 as compared to 2012 (from 1.39 to 1.63 trillion rubles). It was stated by the head of the Duma’s Committee on Defense, Vladimir Komoedov, Lenta.ru reports.
According to the deputy, the expenses will keep increasing to 1.9 and 2.41 trillion rubles in 2014 and 2015 respectively. The corresponding calculation is included in the draft federal law “On federal budget for 2013 and planning period of 2014 and 2015”, introduced for Duma’s consideration by the government. Thus the total expenses for the armed forces will reach almost 6 trillion rubles over the next three years.
As explained by Komoedov, the major part of these funds will be allocated for supporting the activities of the armed forces. 775 billion rubles will be allocated for these purposes in 2013, 797.17 billion – in 2014 and 833,09 billion – in 2015. At that the expenses for military pay will be gradually decreased (341,9 billion rubles in 2013, 324,89 billion – in 2014 and 323,99 – in 2015).
The head of the Duma’s Committee on Defense also said that it is necessary to allocate additional 22.5 billion rubles provide allowances for the armed forces in 2013. The required financing for 2014 and 2015 is 36,4 and 51,5 billion rubles respectively.
It is planned to spend 23 trillion rubles on re-equipment of the armed forces in the network of the State program in the area of arms for 2011-2020. In particular, these funds will be allocated for acquisition of armored vehicles, aircraft and air defense systems.
