2 875 168 passengers made use of Domodedovo international airport’s services in September (+8.4% as compared to September 2011), the airport’s press-service reports. AEX.ru
The number of takeoff and landing operations was 23 717 in September and over 190900 ones – during the period from January to September 2012. The airport’s passenger traffic was 21 592 365 passengers during January – September 2012 (+9%). The most popular destinations of the first nine months of 2012 are: Antalya, London, Barcelona, Dubai and Munich (the total passenger traffic on these routes exceeded 2 366 000 passengers).
“Domodedovo airport is becoming more and more attractive for the transfer passengers: thanks to the broad route network comprising 243 destinations (85 of them are unique ones within the framework of Moscow Air Cluster) the airport can provide its passengers with comfortable connection flights. The share of transfer passengers flying to/from Rostov-on-Don, Kiev, St. Petersburg through Domodedovo in the airport’s total passenger traffic on these routes was 37,4%, 36,8% and 33,5% respectively”, - Domodedovo’s press-service noted.
The greatest increase of passenger traffic was traditionally recorded on domestic airlines. The passenger traffic on domestic airlines was 1 147 278 passengers in September 2012 (+14,9%). During the period from January to September 2012 the passenger traffic on domestic airlines was 8 754 791 passengers (+14,2%). The greatest growth has been recorded on the following destinations: St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Anapa, Chelyabinsk. The passenger traffic on these destinations was 2 297 thousand passengers (+25,8%).
The passenger traffic on international airlines has increased by 4,5% in September 2012 and was 1 727 890 passengers. During the period from January to September 2012 the passenger traffic on international airlines was 12 837 574 passengers (+5.7% as compared to January-September 2011). The greatest growth (+46.1%) has been recorded on the following international destinations: Minsk, Kiev, Burgas, Bangkok, Barcelona. 1 330 thousand passengers have been transported on the specified destinations during the period from January to September 2012.
The cargo traffic of Domodedovo airport in September 2012 was 17 683 tons (+6%). During the period from January to September 2012 Domodedovo’s cargo traffic has increased by 3,9% to 140 674 tons.
