Aeroflot – Russian Airlines has put the fifth Sukhoi SuperJet 100 (SSJ-100) into operation. It has been named after the honored pilot, the first civil aviation pilot to be awarded with the badge of honor “For 6 000 000 km of accident free flight distance” – Dmitry Ivanovich Barilov, the airline’s press-service reported. Sukhoi SuperJet 100 (serial number 95015) has been delivered to Aeroflot in accordance with the contract with VEB-Leasing on financial leasing of the aircraft. The delivered aircraft is intended for transportation of 87 passengers in a comfortable two-class cabin (12 seats in the business-class and 75 – in the economy class). The liner’s maximum range is 2,300 km.
Aeroflot is operating Sukhoi SuperJet 100 short-haul aircraft on domestic and international routes. These aircraft will be performing regular flights from Sheremetyevo to St. Petersburg, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Ufa, Yekaterinburg, Astrakhan, Chelyabinsk, Perm, Volgograd, Anapa, Minsk, Oslo, Budapest and Samara.

Sukhoi SuperJet 100 is the new regional aircraft designed by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft in cooperation with Alenia Aeronautica. SSJ-100 has performed its maiden flight on May 19th 2008. SSJ-100 has received the AR IAC type certificate in February 2011.
