Tupolev is negotiating with several customers on deliveries of Tu-204SM aircraft, in particular with Kosmos airline (owned by S.P. Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation Energia), Bashkirskie Avialinii (BAL) and Red Wings, RIA Novosti reports with reference to Director of Communications and marketing division of Tupolev Company, Andrei Tupolev.

Tupolev has noted that the company is negotiating with 7 - 9 customers and the forecasted orders will include 140 aircraft. "We are planning deliveries of 140 aircraft", - he said.

"There is a preliminary order from Energia on 3 – 5 Tu-204SM jets for Kosmos airline", - he said, noting that the negotiations with Bashkir airline are also underway (the agreement on delivery of 15 aircraft with an option on 15 more).

Red Wings is planning to acquire 10-15 Тu-204SМ aircraft, said the owner of the airline, Alexander Lebedev. "We have discussed the possibility of purchasing 10 jets at the meeting held by Manturov (Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade)", - he said.

Tu-204SM is the modernization of Tu-204 aircraft. As compared to Tu-204-100, the liner’s takeoff weight has been increased and the avionics has been renewed, thus allowing to reduce the crew to two members (without the flight engineer), which corresponds to the world experience for jets of this class.
