Sheremetyevo airport has serviced 22,5 million passengers in 2011

Sheremetyevo international airport has serviced 22,555 million passengers (+16,7% as compared to 2010), the airport’s press-service reports. AEX.ru

The passenger traffic in international airlines has increased by 18,1% to 15 512 000 passengers, as for domestic airlines – by 14,3 % to 8 043 000 passengers.
Sheremetyevo airport has serviced 1 732 000 passengers in December 2011, which is greater than the same figure in 2010 by 23.8%.

The airport has provided implementation of 210 740 takeoffs and landings in 2011 (+14,2% as compared to 2010). The main increase of passenger traffic on international routes has been provided by Aeroflot, Transaero, Nordavia, Nordwind Airlines, AeroSvit, Air France, Turkish airlines.

The most popular international destinations during the 11 months of this year were Antalya, Paris, Istanbul, Prague, Beijing, Kiev, Sharm el-Sheikh, Rome, Hurghada and the federal ones were – St. Petersburg, Sochi, Krasnodar, Yekaterinburg, Kaliningrad, Rostov-on-Don and Samara.

"Sheremetyevo airport provides a high level of service quality to its customers and establishes conditions for outrunning growth of its partner airlines, which increases the airport’s attractiveness for new carriers. The following airlines have joined the airport’s “family” in 2011 – Royal Air Maroc, Blue Panorama, «Kogalimavia», «Orenair», «DonbassAero», Turkish Cargo, Uzbekistan Airways (cargo transportation)", - said in the press-service’s message.

Transaero, Air France, Czech Airlines, Estonian Air and SAS have significantly expanded their operating activities thus making a significant impact on the growth of international transportation’s indicators. The main contributor to the total passenger traffic, Aeroflot – Russian Airlines, has successfully implemented the development program for transportation on federal routes, providing high level of indicators in this segment, representatives of Sheremetyevo noted.
