Russian airlines have transported 4 587 976 passengers in December 2011 (+14.3% as compared to December 2010) and 84 793,98 tons of cargo and mail (+5.4%).
As for cargo traffic in 2011, the Russian airlines have transported 976 770.5 tons of cargo and mail (+5.4% as compared to 2010).
In addition, the passenger turnover of the airlines was 166 591 357,56 thousand passenger-kilometers, (+ 13,2% as compared to the last year). The ton-kilometers indicator was 19 920 166,03 thousand ton-kilometers (+ 10,9%) and the cargo turnover was 4 926 943.85 thousand ton-kilometers (+4.5%).
As for the passenger traffic of the airports, Domodedovo’s is still the largest one among them. It has serviced 25.7 million passengers in 2011 (+15.5% as compared to the last year).
In addition, according to RBC Daily, Sheremetyevo still has the second place, but the airport has demonstrated better growth dynamics – more than +16% up to 22.56 million passengers in 2011. The third place by passenger traffic may be taken by Pulkovo (St. Petersburg) for the first time since 2006. The results of airport’s work in 2011 have not been finalized yet, but the forecasted indicator is around 9.6 million passengers. Vnukovo airport (Moscow) has serviced about 8.2 million passengers in 2011 (- 15.3%).
