The Russian airlines have transported more than 42.5 million passengers during the eight months of 2011

Federal Air Transport Agency has unveiled the statistics on passenger traffic and cargo traffic of Russian carriers for the period of time from January to August 2011. AEX.ru

According to the statistics, the passenger turnover was 109 982 893,37 thousand passenger-kilometers (+13,2% as compared to the same period of 2010). The cargo turnover was 3 159 523,17 thousand ton-kilometers (+5%).

42 582 629 passengers have been transported during this period by Russian airlines (+12.3%). The total scope of transported cargo and mail was 619 095,90 tons (+5,9%). The passenger load factor was 77,4%, the payload factor was 65,1%.

Talking about the indicators of August 2011, the airlines have transported 7 745 052 passengers (+15%) and 424 213,48 tons of cargo and mail (+7,3%).

According to the information of Federal Air Transport Agency, the top 5 airlines by passenger traffic during the period from January to August 2011 are as follows: Aeroflot - 9 177 326 passengers (+23% as compared to the same period of 2010),Transaero - 5 579 859 passengers (+28,3%), UTair - 3 557 934 passengers (+17,7%), Sibir - 3 336 920 passengers (+3,5%), Rossiya - 2 343 566 passengers (+11,3%).

The top 5 airlines by cargo traffic during the period from January to August 2011 are as follows:  AirBridgeCargo - 235 920,9 tons of cargo and mail (+20,5% as compared to the same period of 2010), Aeroflot - 98 248,1 tons (-5,8%),  Volga-Dnepr - 40 711,7 tons of cargo and mail (-34,5%), Polet -  35 586,3 tons (+29,5%), Transaero - 30 704,9 tons (+33,8%).
