A contract between UTair Aviation and Boeing Company on acquisition of 40 new Boeing 737-800/900ER has been approved at today’s special meeting of shareholders. The amount of the contract is more than $3 billion in list prices, the airline reports. AEX.ru
UTair is one of the CIS Region’s largest operators of Boeing aircraft: the airline’s fleet includes more than 40 vehicles made by Boeing. The airline has become the first operator of Boeing 737-800 Next-Generation with an improved Sky Interior configuration in Russia and Eastern Europe. These jets have a spacious cabin, comfortable leather seats and improved capacity of hatracks along with state-of-the-art noise insulation and some other technical improvements. A unique lighting system changes the intensity and tone of lighting depending on the current stage of the flight and time of day, the airline noted.
"Boeing 737 Next-Generation aircraft not only allow UTair introduce a new level of service to its passengers, but also significantly decrease the operational costs, fuel costs and emission", - the UTair’s press-service stated.
UTair group is operating the largest fleet in the country including more than 200 aircraft, among which are 23 Boeing 737-500s, 8 Boeing 737-800s, 7 Boeing 737-400s and 4 Boeing 757-200s.
