Russia may become one of top-3 manufacturers of civil aircraft due to usage of innovations in the nearest 15 years, ITAR-TASS reports. It has been declared at International youth Interra-2011 forum in Novosibirsk by the area manager on innovative development of United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), Stanislv Pogrebnyak.
"The objective is to enter the top-3 manufacturers after Boeing and Airbus in the nearest 15 years. I am talking about civil aircraft first of all because we are already competitive in the military aircraft segment", - he said.
Pogrebnyak noted that “the situation may be changed only by innovations” and we should use it in a different way, not like we are using them now.
He explained: "The top-management of our corporation says that we are 95% innovative. But there is a question: if we are so innovative, why do we reside in the rear guard? I guess something is wrong with our innovative policy". "Maybe we should change the management system and re-organize innovations", - sys Pogrebnyak. He also added that it is planned to increase expenses on research and development works and scientific studies. The UAC’s development program for the nearest future includes 321 projects with the provided finance.
Pogrebnyak said that the present activity of civil aircraft manufacturers is ineffective. "We have manufactured only 5 aircraft during 7 months of this year. It is highly unprofitable".
