The proprietary standard for servicing the disabled people on the air transport has been developed in the network of corresponding agreement signed in April 2011 by the All-Russian Society of Disabled Persons, Transaero airline, Moscow Domodedovo airport and the Association of service providers for the passengers on the transport, the airline reports. The standard includes the general principles for servicing the disabled persons and describes technology for transporting such passengers by the air transport. It also assumes the implementation of program for special training and re-training of the airlines’ personnel for servicing the disabled persons. The standard is developed in accordance with the Federal legislation, related to the social protection of disabled persons, the Air Code of Russian Federation and Federal Aviation Regulations, and also in accordance with the world’s best standards of servicing the disabled persons, Transaero stated.
The development of this standard has been performed on the basis of Transaero and Domodedovo airport, taking into account their vast experience in this area. The experts of All-Russian Society of Disabled Persons, All-Russian Blind Association and All-Russian Association of the occlusive persons have also taken an active part in the development of the standard.
Transaero and Moscow Domodedovo airport are responsible for servicing disabled persons in accordance with the standard and continuously improve the quality of provided services in order to create an accessible environment for travelling of such passengers, the airline noted.
Taking into account, that the successful implementation of the new standard is possible only in case of having the specially trained personnel, the partners have developed a course of advanced training for the personnel of the airlines and airports. The course participants will receive the required education and skills for implementation of quality standards and the technologies for servicing the disabled persons at the air transport, communication ethics and delivery of care to such passengers. The contents of the course meet the requirements of ICAO and IATA.
The partners are implementing the project being aware of the importance of providing the accessibility of air transportation for the disabled persons.
In addition, the partners intend perform an active interaction with the Russian air transport enterprises aimed at attracting them into cooperation in the area of new standard’s implementation and the corresponding program of personnel training. They will also initiate the improvement of requirements to the enterprises of the aviation industry in the area of servicing the disabled persons by the state inspection agencies, the airline added.
