Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute (TsAGI) will present its five latest products at International aerospace show MAKS-2011, which will be taking place from August 16th to August 21st 2011 in Zhukovsky (Moscow region), TsAGI’s press-service reports. AEX.ru
The following products will be presented at the show:
- remote-controlled model of advanced short-medium-haul aircraft of the 21st century. It is used for development of measures, providing safety of flight testing and aircraft’s operation, in TsAGI’s wind-tunnel (the characteristics of tail spin are studied and estimated this way). The model is made of state-of-the-art composites and has a high strength margin;
- an aerodynamic model of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV);
- UAV of vertical takeoff and landing intended for site and territory surveillance, for provision of communications, scanning of structures, gas and oil piping, monitoring of the environment. This vehicle has some advantages as compared to the other UAVs because this UAV is like flying fan, which does not need any additional devices to start;
- a high-precision (both in respect of geometry reproduction and modeling of inertial and stiffness characteristics) multi-role model of high-fineness wing panel of advanced long-haul aircraft. It is used for research of dangerous phenomenon (flutter, buffet) and characteristics of static aeroelasticity in TsAGI’s wind-tunnels.
In addition, the visitors will be able to see a unique object of joint exposition of state aviation scientific centers – a model of advanced short-medium-haul aircraft of the 21st century with mechanized wing and deflectable controls. At present it is being used for refinement of aerodynamic configuration of takeoff and landing mechanization and controls, and estimation of its effectiveness and relevance within the framework of modern international aviation tendencies.
