UTair will order 9 long-haul Boeing 767s

UTair is going to expand its fleet with long-haul liners in the nearest future, RBC Daily reports. Nine Boeing 767s will help expanding the carrier’s network by adding regular and charter flights.

Thus the long-haul Boeing 767s may join UTair’s fleet soon. As reported by several sources, the contract on delivery of the liners may be signed on MAKS-2011. The deliveries should be started in the end of 2011. All the liners will be acquired from the secondary market. According to the source, two liners will be performing flights within the framework of Anex Tour’s charter program. In particular, they will fly to Thailand, Egypt and China. The rest seven liners will perform regular flights. In particular, it is expected that the carrier may open new destinations in North and Central America.

Anex Tour has an experience of cooperation with UTair. The tour company has planned to create its own carrier earlier but did not obtain Air Operator Certificate and placed its two leased Boeing 757-200s under UTair’s management.

Russian representative office of Boeing did not make any comments on UTair’s plans. The official representative of Federal Air Transport Agency, Sergey Izvolski, has noted that the airline did not request any changes in the Air Operator Certificate connected with addition of new aircraft type to the airline’s fleet.
