Russian carriers have increased their passenger traffic by 11% in the first half of 2011 as compared to the same period in 2010, Finmarket reports. The number of transported passengers was 27,3 million. 13,1 million passengers have used international services (+10.6%) and 14,2 million have used domestic routes (+ 11,3%).
In addition, the number of passengers that used international destinations outside CIS Region is five times higher (10,9 million passengers: + 43% as compared to the same period in 2010), than the number of passengers travelling inside CIS Region (2,2 million passengers: + 11%).
The passenger turnover of the Russian airlines was 71,3 billion passenger-kilometers (+12,2%).
The cargo turnover has also increased to 2,2 billion ton-kilometers (+ 4,3%). However, the passenger load factor was 74,4% (-1,5%).
Transaero had the most significant increase in passenger traffic among the 5 largest airlines (+24% or 3.4 million passengers). Aeroflot was the second one in this rating (+ 22,3% up to 6,2 million passengers). UTair has added 10,2% to the mark of 2,3 million passengers. Rossiya airline - 8,6% up to 1,5 million passengers. The slowest growth of passenger traffic has been recorded by S7 Airlines - 3,4% to 2,2 million passengers.
Aeroflot was the only airline, which did not lose its positions in passenger load factor, this indicator has increased by 0,5% to the 75,5%. The rest airlines have shown a decrease of the indicator: UTair -4% to 70,7%, Transaero -2,3% to 79,6%, S7 Airlines 1,5% to 72,2%, and Rossiya -0,9% to 71,9%.
The most significant increase of passenger traffic has been recorded by Transaero - +25,8%. The similar indicator of UTair has increased by 21,3%. Aeroflot’s growth was 20,6%. Rossiya has added 5,7%, and S7 Airlines - +1,1%.
