EU-Russia aviation forum, organized by Russian Ministry of Transport and European Commission, will take place in St. Petersburg on October 12th and 13th 2011. AEX.ru
The Deputy Chairman of the Government of Russia, Sergey Ivanov, Minister of Transport, Igor Levitin, Deputy Minister of Transport, Valery Okulov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov, heads of the leading aircraft industry’s enterprises and the country’s leading airlines will be taking part in the summit. The EU’s delegation will include Deputy Chairman of the European Commission, Siym Kallass, Head of European Commission Directorate of air transport, Mathew Boldwin, CEO of IATA, Tony Tyler, Polish Minister of Infrastructure, Tsesari Grabarchik, etc.
The important problems of cooperation in the area of civil aviation will be discussed at the Summit. In particular, the parties intend to consider such problems as, cancellation of “appointed carrier” concept, the possibility of replacement of existing bilateral air transport agreements by a single agreement with European Union. The participants of the Summit will exchange opinions in the areas of environmental protection during the development of air transport and emission trading.
In addition, the agenda includes problems connected with prospects of trans-Siberian routes development and commercial agreements, connected with usage of state-of-the-art technologies in the air traffic control system, the capabilities of aircraft navigation systems alignment and unification of flight operation rules. It is also planned to discuss the bilateral interaction in the area of flight safety and prospects of airport infrastructure development.
The accreditation of journalists will be carried out by the press-service of Ministry of Transport since September 7th 2011.
