Ilyushin Finance & Co acquires 50 MS-21s

The contract between Irkut Corporation and Ilyushin Finance & Co (IFC) on delivery of 28 МS-21-300 aircraft with an option on another 22 jets of the same modification has been signed in the network of MAKS-2011. AEX.ru

The contract has been signed by president of Irkut Corporation, Alexey Fedorov, and CEO of IFC, Alexander Rubtsov. The contract’s total value is $2,2 billion without VAT. The deliveries will be taking place during the period of 2019-2022.

Answering the question about the selection of engines, Rubtsov said that IFC would choose the engine, which will demonstrate better performance at the time of deliveries.

We remind you that the firm contract between Russian Technologies and Irkut Corporation on delivery of 50 MS-21s (35 МS-21-300s and 15 МS-21-200s) with an option on 35 МS-21s with a total value of $3,8 billion has been signed yesterday at MAKS-2011 along with framework agreement between Aeroflot – Russian Airlines and Russian Technologies on operational leasing of these aircraft. Thus, MS-21 is the most successful and best-selling jet at MAKS-2011 (the contracts on 78 liners has been signed with an option on another 57 ones).
