Russian Technologies and Irkut Corporation have signed a contract on delivery of MS-21 aircraft

The Russian Technologies State Corporation’s subsidiary – Aviakapital-Service leasing company and Irkut Corporation have signed a firm contract on delivery of 50 short- and medium-haul MS-21 aircraft with an option on another 35 jets at MAKS-2011, Irkut Corporation reports. AEX.ru

The contract has been signed in the presence of the Head of Government of Russia, Vladimir Putin. CEO of Russian Technologies, Sergey Chemezov, president of UAC, Mikhail Pogosyan, and CEO of Aeroflot, Vitaly Savelyev have taken part in the signing ceremony.

On the customer’s part the contract has been signed by CEO of Aviakapital-Service , Roman Pakhomov, on the customer’s part – president of Irkut Corporation, Alexey Fedorov.

In accordance with the contract, Irkut Corporation will deliver 50 MS-21 aircraft to Aviakapital-Service during period from 2017 to 2022, including 35 МS-21-300 and 15 МS-21-200.

The contract’s total value is estimated at $3.8 billion in accordance to the list prices.

The contract assumes that the MS-21 aircraft may be equipped with two types of engines: PD-14 from United Engine-Building Corporation and PW1400G made by Pratt & Whitney, USA.

The airlines of Aeroflot Group will operate the aircraft, including aviation enterprises, which will be transferred to the national carrier by Russian Technologies.

The implementation of this contract will contribute to development of the Russian aircraft industry on the basis of high technologies of international standard and re-equipment of Russian airlines with advanced reliable and comfortable aircraft.
