Armavia: the Superjet is operational

The Deputy Director General of the Armenian national carrier Armavia, Levon Stepanyan, said that the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft is operational, commenting the recently published information regarding discovered deviation of jet’s engine working parameters, RIA Novosti reports.

The Armavia’s press-secretary has reported earlier that indication showing deviation of engine’s working parameters has triggered during the jet’s level flight from Yerevan to Marseille. The commission including representatives of Sukhoi Civil Aircraft, PowerJet (joint venture of NPO Saturn and Snecma) and Armavia, has been formed for investigation of the accident. According to her, at present the commission is investigating the reasons of this accident and their findings will be declared as soon as possible”.

"People are likely to exaggerate facts. There is no threat for our passengers", - said Stepanyan.

The Deputy Director General of Armavia has noted that he has travelled to Venice onboard of this jet and he is satisfied with the flight.

"Sukhoi Superjet 100 is operational. It is a state-of-the-art, new-built aircraft and it requires attention as any other vehicle. Since we are the jet’s launch customer, our attention is special", - Stepanyan said.

However, in spite of Armavia’s authorities saying that the problem was insignificant, Sukhoi Superjet 100 has not been performing flights for 10 days. Aeroflot’s Sukhoi Superjet 100 has been grounded for two weeks earlier due to technical problems.
