The Omsk Polyot Production Association, forming part of Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Center, has completed the construction of world’s most reliable light rocket-carrier "Kosmos-3M" and started the production of Rokot and Proton heavy rocket carriers, and the new light Angara-1.2 missile.It has been reported by ARMS-TASS with reference to enterprise’s Deputy General Designer, Viktor Blinov.
During his speech at the opening of VI all-Russian scientific conference "The problems of development, manufacturing and operation of aerospace and aviation equipment", Blinov noted that his enterprise has manufactured 750 Kosmos-3M missiles in the last 40 years. The reliability factor of these missiles is 0,97 and it is the world record. After becoming part of Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Center, the Omsk enterprise has started the production of important components for Proton, also the whole Rokot missile is manufactured there and Angara will not only be manufactured but partially designed too. The laboratory of 3D modeling has been created at the Production Association for these purposes.
The forum has opened the business program of IX international exhibition of hi-tech equipment and armament "VTTV-Omsk-2011", which will be taking place since July 6th to July 9th. One of the main scientific fields presented for discussion – the development of aircraft and its components, service life extension of rocket and space systems, design engineering, preproduction technology.
