Khabarovsk Airport and Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC) have signed an agreement on strategic partnership on July 4th in Moscow, the airport reports. AEX.ru
According to the agreement, IIAC acquires 75 028 additional shares (10% of registered capital) of Khabarovsk airport. In accordance with the Agreement of shareholders for the period of 5 years, IIAC, as a shareholder of Khabarovsk airport, will take place in the development of international Khabarovsk airport’s (New) Master Plan, created by the specialists of IIAC and Daewoo Engineering, and will help attract funds for this project.
The agreements have been signed by the Chairman of the Board of Khabarovsk airport, Konstantin Basyuk, and the president and CEO of IIAC, Che-Wuk Lee, within the presence of Russian Minister of Transport, Igor Levitin, and the governor of Khabarovsk Region, Vyacheslav Shport. The signing ceremony has also been visited by: the Authorized representative of president of Russia in the Far East Federal District, Alexander Levintahl, ambassador of Korea in Russia – Un Kho Lee, and the representatives of industrial bodies, Russian and Korean financiers and partners of IIAC and Khabarovsk airport.
During his speech at the signing ceremony Konstantin Basyuk said: "The strategic partnership with IIAC, which manages one of the world’s best airports, is aimed at creation of regional center in Khabarovsk. Khabarovsk (New) will become an airport with highly-developed passenger and cargo infrastructure, thus making its contribution in social and economic development of the Far East of Russia».
Che-Wuk Lee noted: "We want to export our knowledge and experience within the framework of our cooperation with Khabarovsk airport aimed at achieving our common goals. We have carried out works on creation of Master Plan of Khabarovsk airport and we understand that it has a high potential for becoming the top-class airport. The strategic partnership with Khabarovsk airport will be the way to big success for the both parties ".
