Sky Express acquires the first Airbus A319

A new type of aircraft – A319 – has joined the fleet of Sky Express, a partner of Kuban Airlines, the airline’s press-service reports. AEX.ru 

The leased liner has arrived from Abu-Dhabi (UAE) on July 18th 6:21 Moscow time to the Vnukovo airport, where Sky Express is based. The aircraft has performed an inspection flight with the representatives of Federal Air Transport Agency onboard for further adding of the new type in the Air Operator Certificate.
 
The new type of aircraft has been added to Sky Express’ Air Operator Certificate on July 22nd and then the jet has departed from Vnukovo to Antalya in the network of performance of regional charter program.
 
The acquired A319 has been manufactured in 2004, it has a one-class configuration with 156 seats and it has been operated by EasyJet earlier. A319 will mostly be taking part in the international charter flights program of Sky Express.
 
The airline’s pilots have passed retraining for the new aircraft type and the second squadron has been created in the airline.
 
Thus, the Sky Express’ fleet includes 9 liners: eight Boeing 737s and one Airbus A319. The delivery of two more Airbus A319 to Sky Express is expected in August.
