We remind you that SaM146 program is an equal partnership between Russian NPO Saturn and French Snecma company on development, production and promotion of new SaM-146 powerplant for equipping new next-generation regional jets. The first application for SaM146 is Sukhoi SuperJet100, developed by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCA).
Having started the serial production of SaМ146, NPO Saturn is carrying out development a modification of SaM-146 engine with thrust increased by 5%, taking into account plans of SCA on expansion of SSJ100 family, the company reports.
NPO Saturn is also studying variants of using SaM146 engines on different types of aircraft, for example Be-200, Аn-158, Rekkof (former Fokker).
According to Deputy Director General and the Director of SaM146 program on NPO Saturn, vice-president of PowerJet, Yuri Basyuk, «the parties have confirmed that the project of An-158 re-engining is interesting for Antonov and PowerJet». The route card of actions and arrangements has been formed. According to the card, the signing of memorandum on An-158 re-engining will be performed during MAKS-2011».
