A decision regarding start of immediate forward-looking production of serial SaМ146 engines has been taken

A delegation of representatives of Group «SAFRAN», «Snecma» and «PowerJet» has visited NPO Saturn, the enterprise reports. AEX.ru

 
The officials of SAFRAN Group – the Group’s COO, Mark Vantr, president and CEO of Snecma, Pierre Fabre, president and CEO of PowerJet and company’s Development Director, Russia, Jacque Declo, CEO of SAFRAN’s representative office in Moscow, Mark Sorele, Deputy Director on SaM146 program on the part of Snecma, Irina Usova, have visited the joint venture of NPO Saturn and Snecma – VolgAero and taken part in the meeting with the administration of NPO Saturn regarding the cooperation issues and implementation of SaM146 engine (intended for SSJ100 regional aircraft) program.
 
According to the management director of NPO Saturn, Ilya Fedorov, the main purpose of this meeting is confirmation of planned tasks for serial production of SaМ146 engines in 2012. The decision regarding start of immediate forward-looking production of serial SaМ146 engines for implementation of contract obligations of Sukhoi Civil Aircraft for 2012-2013 has been taken during the negotiations.
 
The new head of Snecma, Pierre Fabre, has visited NPO Saturn for the first time. One and a half years have passed since the visit of Mark Vantre. As noted by Ilya Fedorov, their French colleagues have very propitious impressions from the production center created at the enterprise and the company’s plans of increasing output to 150 vehicles a year. According to Saturn, SAFRAN and Snecma, the dynamics of modernization in Saturn is “very intense”.  The parties have confirmed once again that Saturn and Snecma are working as a single team, which guarantees the success of this project.
