Irkutsk Aviation Plant (IAP) is prepared for assembly of advanced Russian MS-21 civil aircraft, said the president of Irkut Corporation, Alexey Fedorov, during his meeting with journalists.AEX.ru
He also added that only the work on organization of automated assembly technology is left before the full readiness. «All the IAP’s workshops are undergoing deep modernization at the moment assuming the provision of MS-21 program», - Fedorov noted.
MS-21 aircraft will be manufactured in three versions: with 150, 180 and 212 seats. The standard range is 3500 km, the extended one is 5000 km. "Other versions of this liner with range up to 7000 km may appear in future", - Alexey Fedorov noted.
He also added that creation of MS-21 will allow Russia supply around 10% of global market’s single-aisle aircraft and the production facilities allow manufacturing of 84 MS-21 jets a year.
