Moscow Domodedovo airport continues to demonstrate the record paces of passenger traffic growth. The number of flights in June 2011 has increased by 22,7% to 23331 as compared with the last year, the airport reports. AEX.ru
The passenger traffic of Domodedovo airport following the results of June 2011 was 2 590 387 passengers, which is greater by 22,7% than in June 2010.
The passenger traffic on domestic airlines was 990 538 passengers, thus it has increased by 21,7% compared to June 2010. Passenger traffic on international airlines has increased by 23,3% to 1 599 849 passengers.
Domodedovo’s cargo traffic was 16 018 tons, thus it has increased by 28,8%.
The daily passenger flow indicator has exceeded the mark of 100,000 passengers for the first time in history on June 26th 2011. 101 432 passengers have been serviced at the airport that day. Following the results of the first half of 2011, 113 895 flights have been serviced, which is greater by 18,8% as compared to the similar period in 2010.
The passenger traffic during the first six months of 2011 was 11 220 797 passengers. Compared to the same period in 2010, the growth was 14,9%. НThe passenger traffic at domestic airlines was 4 440 062 passengers, 16,3% more than last year.
The most dynamic growth has been placed on record at the following destinations: Krasnodar, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Makhachkala and Rostov-on-Don.
The passenger traffic on these destinations was 1 145 000 passengers, and it has increased by 38,3% as compared to the first half of 2010. The passenger traffic on the international airlines was 6 780 735 passengers (plus 14,1% to the indicator of 2010).
The most dynamic growth has been placed on record at the following destinations: Antalya, Munich, Barcelona, Frankfurt am Main and Dushanbe.
During January-June of 2011 1 319 000 passengers have been transported on these routes (plus 64,0%as compared to the last year’s indicator).
Domodedovo’s cargo traffic has increased by 25,3% and it was 86 329 tons.
