Sheremetyevo airport has serviced around 10 million passengers during the first half of this year

Sheremetyevo international airport has closed the books on the first half of 2011. The number of serviced passengers has increased by 16,8% to 9 926 000 since the beginning of the year as compared to the last year’s indicators, the airport reports. AEX.ru

 
The passenger traffic in international airlines has increased by 18,8% during the period from January to June  and it is 6 427 000 passengers, as for domestic airlines – by 13,3 % to 3 499 000 passengers.
Sheremetyevo airport has serviced 2 197 000 passengers in June 2011, which is greater than the same figure in 2010 by 14%. Meanwhile, the number of passengers on international routes has increased by 19,1% to 1  448 000, and on domestic routes - by 5,3% to 748,300.
 
The most popular international destinations in Sheremetyevo airport during the first half of this year were Antalya, Paris, Istanbul, Prague, Beijing, and the federal ones were – St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Yekaterinburg, Sochi, and Kaliningrad. The most popular destinations for summer vacations were Antalya, Dalaman, Heraklion, Rodos and Bangkok. The main increase of passenger traffic on international routes has been provided by Aeroflot, Transaero, Nordwind Airlines, AeroSvit, Air France, Turkish airlines.
 
Sheremetyevo airport has performed 98200 takeoff and landing operations during the period from January to June 2011, 15,2% more than in the first half of 2010. The number of takeoff and landing operations has increased in June by 12,6% to 19,300.
