Aeroflot may become the first Russian customer of А320 neos, RBC Daily reports. According to the airframer, the airline will start the renewal of its A320 fleet in 2014—2015.

According to Airbus vice-president, Eastern Europe, Russia, Andreas Kramer, at present Aeroflot’s fleet includes 75 А320s. «They have been acquired in lots. The first delivery has taken place in 2003. That is why the airline will consider renewal of its fleet in 2014—2015», — Andreas Kramer noted. According to him, According to him, the time in commission of ten jets will reach 18 years by that time. He denied any comments regarding possibility of acquisition of А320 neos by Aeroflot. 

However, CEO of Aeroflot, Vitaly Savelyev, said during interview with French mass-media in June that the airline is considering the possibility of A320 neo acquisition. The official representative of the airline has noted yesterday that “the carrier will require a large fleet of new quality aircraft in the network of new development strategy». He did not mention any certain types of aircraft, which Aeroflot may require. However, a source in Russian Technologies State Corporation notes, that the corporation’s leasing company (which has signed a contract on 50 Boeing 737 for Aeroflot before and is now discussing the terms of delivery) is negotiating on acquisition of А320 neos too. 

The delivery of these jets for subsidiary leasing company in 2019 is being discussed now. He said that the liners may be offered to Aeroflot and the airline may become the first Russian customer of these jets.
