The contract on Mistrals acquisition will be signed in a short form by June 21st

The negotiations regarding acquisition of four French Mistral assault helicopter carriers will be finished by the date specified by Russian and French government – June 21st, when Vladimir Putin will visit Paris, Rosbalt reports. The high-ranking source from the Russian military-industrial complex has unveiled this fact.

According to him, the contract on delivery of four ships will be signed, thus his total amount should exceed €2 billion and the first ship will be delivered to Russian naval forces in spring 2015.

Herewith, combat information and control system SENIT 9 will be sold to Russia in a basic version in spite of France refusing to sell the system at first. A source close to the officials of Russian Ministry of Defense, has confirmed this information. He has also added that the final agreement can hardly be reached in the areas of price parameters and depth of technology transfer including parameters of SENIT 9 system transfer. In this case the contract will be signed in a short form – with references to protocols on issues which are to be refined later.
