The representatives of Sukhoi Company and Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCA) have noted that they are pleased with improvement of NPO Saturn’s production, in particular by the increase of its capacity, implementation of lean-technologies, and as a result, by possibilities for further increase of its capacity in accordance with increase of SCA’s aircraft sales.

«Our partners have seen the enterprise, modernized for SaM146 production, the main arms, allowing the increase of output to 5 engines per month», - the managing director of NPO Saturn, Ilya Fedorov, noted. – «It is a new assembly workshop, modernized arm of monocrystalline casting and direct crystallization casting, new specialized workshop for machining of rotor blades and sectors of low-pressure turbine nozzle assemblies for SaM146. At the same time, the partners have seen real results in the area of manufacturing cycles decrease for the most critical elements of SaМ146, in particular, manufacturing cycle for rotors has been decreased more than twice», - he added.

The representatives of Snecma, Sukhoi and SCA were impressed by the status of lean-technologies development at NPO Saturn.

According to deputy managing director and the director of SaM146 program, Yuri Basyuk, “the main thing is that there are no contradictions between the production program and delivery schedule. Everything is coordinated. The SCA'’ supposal of delivering the jets in 2011-2012 has been used as a basis for production program. It is supposed to increase the capacity of engine production since October 2011».
