A foreign top-manager will become a part of Aeroflot’s authorities for the first time ever. Giorgio Callegari, vice-president of Alitalia strategic development, has been offered a position in Aeroflot, Kommersant reports.
The foreign director may appear in the Aeroflot’s management for the first time. Callegari may become the Deputy Director General on strategy.
According to CEO of Aeroflot Vitaly Savelyev, the position is almost ready: the marketing strategy has been approved but the strategy on fleet and route network needs refinement.
Giorgio Callegari has been chosen from the great number of contenders. "He has impressed the management with his awareness and competence",— the Aeroflot’s representative explained. The attraction of the foreign manager will cost company $800 per year without taking into account the participation in an Employee Stock Option Plan.
Giorgio Callegari was born in 1959 in Torino. He has graduated as a mining engineer. He started working in Alitalia in 1990. He held different positions in the sales department – from deputy chief manager for sales in USA and Middle West to regional manager on passenger transportation sales in Italy, chief manager on passenger transportation sales in Italy and vice-president on passenger transportation international sales.
Giorgio Callegari has been a head of one of Sky Team’s committees and International Air Transport Association.
