Sikorsky has decided to promote its products at the Russian market

According to ARMS-TASS, American company Sikorsky has decided to promote its products at the Russian market. We remind you that European manufacturers have already been forming part of Russian market for a few years, among them are Agusta Westland, Eurocopter, Robinson, etc.

Frank de Pasquale, the vice-president of Sikorsky said: "We plan to promote our products at the growing Russian helicopter market ". According to him, the company plans to deliver in Russia new S-76D helicopter, S-92 and S-434 light helicopters.

S-76D is a new commercial helicopter which has a 30% fuel economy as compared to its competitors. Its certification is scheduled on the late 2011; the first deliveries should take place in 2012.

S-92 is a very popular vehicle. Its total flight time is about 300,000 hours. 130 such helicopters have been delivered at the global market. The helicopters are being used in Afghanistan for the means of transportation and they are often used by the heads of different states.

New light S-434 helicopter has performed its maiden flight in 2008, it has an ergonomic cockpit, an increased fuel capacity, low operational costs, an increased payload, low vibration level and it is capable of hovering. Ministry of the Interior of Saudi Arabia has acquired first of 9 ordered S-434 in June 2009.

As reported by Frank de Pasquale, Sikorsky intends to start the certification process of these helicopters in accordance with Russian airworthiness codes in 2012. He has also noted that the first helicopters will be delivered directly to the customers who are currently taking part in the negotiations with the company. In case of successful growth of the company’s business in Russia, there is a possibility of attracting a partner for these purposes.

Sikorsky has been scored the largest helicopter manufacturer by the sales results in 2010.
