The 53-years old ex-Deputy Minister of Defense, Vladimir Popovkin, has been appointed the head of Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) in place of 65-years old Anatoliy Perminov, which has been in charge of this department for seven years, RIA Novosti reports.

As well as Perminov, whose retirement has been declared by Vice-Premier Sergey Ivanov, supervising MIC, in early April, Popovkin has commanded the Space force before.
