A380 will take part in MAKS air show for the first time in August

The most modern passenger jet A380 will take part in MAKS-2011, which will be taking place in Zhukovsky from August 16th till August 21st 2011. The A380 liner (serial number 004) will be performing daily flights and will also be exhibited at the special parking, Airbus reports. AEX.ru

“Debut of the largest and the most economic liner in the most important Russian aviation event is a great gift for the air show’s 10th anniversary. Russian engineers and scientists have taken an active park in this jet’s development and Russian companies are manufacturing some of the jet’s components at the moment. We would be happy to celebrate A380’s first performance at MAKS air show together with thousands of guests ”, - Airbus executive vice-president, Europe, Asia and Pacific Region, Chris Buckley, has noted.

The liner arriving at MAKS-2011 is one of the jet’s which have taken part in the flight testing program of A380 in the network of jet’s certification. This jet is equipped with Engine Alliance GP7200 engine and different kinds of testing equipment. At present it is used for crew training and prospect systems testing.

Airbus A380 sets the new standards in the passenger transportation area. Being the largest, most spacious and quiet world’s jet, it is also the most economic one with the lowest fuel rate per seat in its segment. The basic А380 is intended for carrying up to 525 in its typical three-class configuration for the distance of up to 15200 km. А380 not only meets the active noise requirements, but it is also twice quitter than its main opponent.

At present 46 А380s are operated by five airlines (Singapore Airlines, Emirates, Qantas, Air France, Lufthansa), performing regular flights to 20 cities. Airbus has a total of 244 A380 orders from 19 customers. The liners have performed more than 30000 commercial flights and carried more than 12 million people around the world from the moment of first A380’s has been put into operation. The total flight time for all operated A380s is 260 000 hours.
