Aeroflot is among the world’s most expensive brands

Aeroflot – Russian airlines has uncovered the cost of its brand, one of the most popular ones in Russia and foreign countries, the company reports. AEX.ru

As of the end of 2010 its cost was $1,086 billion. British company Brand Finance, an acknowledged world leader in brands’ assessment, has estimated the Aeroflot’s one. Following the results of company’s study, Aeroflot is among 20 most expensive brands of the world. The largest part of its cost is accrued at domestic market.

"We may see the stable brand’s position among domestic air lines and high degree of clients’ loyalty, especially speaking of business-class. As for the foreign markets, the most favorable one is Europe, where Aeroflot is well-known and its brand’s power is significant ", - Aeroflot stated.

The estimated cost of Aeroflot branded business is $5,23 billion. In air transportation the brand’s share is much lower in the business assessment than in other industries, since the air transport has low efficiency predictability and it is high-sensitive to the external factors impact. But the Russian leading airline’s brand looks pretty solid in this case.

«Being on the list of world’s top-20 aviation brands is another fact conforming Aeroflot’s status as one of significant players at the global market, - said Vitaliy Savelyev, CEO of Aeroflot. – The study shows that Aeroflot – is one of the few Russian companies not related to the oil and gas sector, which is well-known all over the world and may compete with the world’s aircraft industry leaders on equal footing ».

According to Brand Finance, Aeroflot is still significantly underestimated and its brand has a great potential. The strategy of increasing Aeroflot brand’s cost may be evaluated following the study’s results. It is possible that with the right strategy and a favorable situation at the market, Aeroflot brand’s cost may increase up to $1,4 billion at the end of this year.
