According to Gazeta.ru, Russian airline UTair intends to acquire 24 Sukhoi Superjet 100s by 2013, as reported by the airline’s CEO Andrey Martirosov.
He participated in ceremony of first ATR 72-500 delivery to UTair in the network of contract to the amount of $426 million, which has taken place in Toulouse on Thursday. According to UTair’s CEO, this aircraft “fits perfectly for servicing routes with a length of 500-800 km” due to its low fuel burn and its operation simplicity.
«However, Russia needs regional jets with greater range, for example Superjet 100», - Martirosov noted.
The first Superjet 100 has been delivered to Armenian carrier Armavia on April 19th.
