According to ARMS-TASS, 20 new French ATR 72 aircrafts will join UTair’s fleet. The ceremony of aircrafts’ delivery to the Russian carrier has taken place in Toulouse on April 21st 2011.
"The necessity of our fleet’s expansion is caused by the increasing demand in Russia and CIS Region ", - said Andrey Martirosov, CEO of UTair.
According to him, ATR’s aircrafts “have perfectly approved themselves not only in Europe but also in the conditions of Siberian winter".
The contract on delivery of the liners with an amount of $426 million has been signed on April 7th.
UTair is one of the Russia’s leading airlines; it is the second one among the domestic airlines. The company is among the world’s leaders in size and capacity of its helicopters fleet. UTair has increased the passenger traffic by 25% following the results of 2010. It plans to carry 7 million passengers this year.
