Sheremetyevo international airport has accepted the first passenger flight of new Sukhoi Superjet 100 (RRJ-95), performed by Armavia from Yerevan to Moscow, early this morning. The aircraft named after Yuri Gagarin has landed in Sheremetyevo at 04.45 (Moscow time) at terminal C. More than 90 passengers were onboard. AEX.ru
Sheremetyevo airport has obtained a license from Federal Agency of Air Transport for servicing RRJ-95 aircraft and its modifications on April 12th 2011. This license confirms that airport’s production departments are ready for servicing this aircraft.
Sheremetyevo has carried out a comprehensive set of preliminaries for obtaining the license. For example, airport’s specialists have been checking the condition of all airdrome elements, needed for servicing this aircraft, for two months. The personnel training have been carried out for servicing the jet and the act of rediness for aircraft acceptance has been signed off.
Sukhoi Superjet 100 (RRJ-95) is the regional next-generation 100-seated aircraft developed by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft in cooperation with Alenia Aeronautica. SSJ100 has performed its maiden flight on May 19th 2008. The jet’s maximum cruise speed is 0.81 M, cruising altitude – 40000ft. The length of run for the jet’s basic version is 1731 m and 2052 m for the version with extended range. The basic version’s range is 3048 km, the extended range versions – 4578 km. SSJ-100 has received the AR IAC certificate on February 3rd 2011. The jet is going to receive EASA certificate this year. The first serial SSJ100 has been delivered to Armenian airline Armavia on April 19th 2011.
