Railway restoration for the Moscow airports has been assessed at 30 million rubles

According to Lenta.ru, more than 30 million rubles of investments needed for restoration of railways connecting Moscow with its airports. This statement has been made by CEO of Russian Railways, Vladimir Yakunin.

"At lest 10 billion rubles needed for reconstruction of each incoming "beam" of railway", - Yakunin explained. He has also added that discussion regarding sources of finance is currently in progress. According to him, "Moscow will take part in the project" and Russian Railways are also going to take part in it by "maintaining the existing system".

Russian Railways own 50% of Aeroexpress shares, a company that carries out transportation of passengers between Moscow and three of its largest airports. Passengers are able to get to Vnukovo, Domodedovo and Sheremetyevo from Kievskiy, Paveletskiy and Belorusskiy railway station respectively.

Prime-Minister of Russia Vladimir Putin has declared the fact of unifying Sheremetyevo and Vnukovo airports on March 28th. Moscow Government owns 75% of Vnukovo shares and Russian Government owns 100% of Sheremetyevo shares. The authorities plan to privatize this aviation network in future.
