Import dwarfs the CIS aircraft in Russia’s fleet

According to the recent announcement made by the State Institute for the Civil Aviation Research (GosNIIGA) chief Vasiliy Shapkin the imported aircraft number in the Russian active civil fleet has increased up to 83 percent in 2010.

91 aircraft have been delivered to the Russian airlines last year with only 13 CIS-produced.

The domestic alternatives with serial production rate named by Shapkin are Tu-204, Sukhoi Superjet and An-148/158.
