Russia will have spent more than 19 trillion roubles on arms modernization by 2020

According to Gazeta.ru, State program in the area of arms, carried in December, comes to a sum of more than 19 trillion roubles. This fact has been announced by the Principal Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia Vladimir Popovkin.

According to his story, the basis of this State program is arms modernization. "More than 19 trillion roubles will be spent on this program ", - he said.

The main priority of the State program is the development of strategic nuclear forces, the general said.

Popovkin also said that eight strategic nuclear-power submarines equipped with intercontinental ballistic missiles "Bulava" will be constructed in the network of this program. The modernization of Tu-160 bombers is also planned.

The orbital group will also be developed, said Popovkin, the former commander of the Russian Space Forces and the former deputy of Commander-In-Chief on arms.
